How to take good dent photos
- Take photos in good natural light โ outdoors works best
- Photograph from multiple angles (straight on + 45ยฐ)
- Include one photo from further back showing the full panel
- Avoid using flash โ it flattens the dent and hides depth
- Try to capture the dent shadow so depth is visible

Why Get an Estimate First?
Every dent is different. Sending photos first means you get an accurate quote before we arrive โ no guesswork, no surprises on the day.
Unlike a flat-rate service, dent repair pricing varies based on the size, depth, and location of the damage. A small round door ding on a flat panel is a very different repair to a deep crease near the edge of a guard. Getting the right price from the start โ before anyone travels anywhere โ makes the whole process smoother for both sides.
We also use the estimate stage to flag any dents that aren't suitable for PDR. About 10% of dents involve cracked or chipped paint, sharp folds, or edge damage that makes PDR inappropriate. We'll let you know honestly at estimate stage so you can make an informed decision about the best path forward.

What Makes a Good Estimate Photo
The quality of your photos directly affects the accuracy of our quote. A blurry or backlit photo makes it hard to see the dent clearly, which forces us to either give a wider price range or ask for more photos โ both of which slow the process down.
The ideal setup is outdoors in bright but overcast daylight โ direct sunlight creates harsh reflections that can actually obscure dent depth. Take one photo straight-on to the dent, one from a 45-degree angle to show the shadow and depth, and one from further back showing the full panel in context.
If the dent is subtle and hard to photograph, you can try holding your phone at a low angle so the surface reflects the sky โ this often reveals the dent contour much more clearly than a direct shot. Video can also work well for subtle damage that doesn't photograph easily.
How Quickly Will I Hear Back?
We aim to respond to all estimate requests within 2โ4 hours during business hours (Monday to Saturday, 7amโ6pm Adelaide time). If you submit in the evening, youโll typically hear back first thing the following morning.
After a major hail event, response times may be slightly longer due to volume โ but we do our best to work through requests as quickly as possible and will always confirm receipt of your submission.
Once you've received your estimate and you're happy to proceed, booking is straightforward. Weโll agree on a date and time that works for you, and you'll receive a confirmation. We'll arrive as scheduled with all equipment needed for the repair.
